How to Connect Your WooCommerce Store to Build the Drop

Connect your WooCommerce store to Build the Drop in minutes: check HTTPS and permalinks, enter your URL and approve access in wp-admin. No plugin needed.

    1. 1

      Check the requirements

You need a WordPress site with WooCommerce installed and served over HTTPS. In wp-admin, go to Settings → Permalinks and make sure they are set to anything other than 'Plain': the WooCommerce REST API needs pretty permalinks to work. You also need an administrator account to approve access. If you plan to import reviews, enable them in WooCommerce → Settings → Products ('Enable product reviews').

    2. 2

      Open Stores → WooCommerce

In the Build the Drop dashboard, open Stores from the sidebar and choose WooCommerce. You will see a short list of requirements and a field for your store URL. There is no plugin to install and no API keys to copy: everything is approved from your own WordPress admin.

    3. 3

      Enter your store URL

Type the address of your store starting with https:// (for example https://mystore.com) and click 'Connect WooCommerce'. If you paste an admin link such as https://mystore.com/wp-admin, that's fine: Build the Drop trims it to the store address.

    4. 4

      Approve access in wp-admin

You are taken to WooCommerce's own approval screen inside your wp-admin. Log in as an administrator if asked, check that the app requesting access is Build the Drop with read/write permissions, and click Approve. WooCommerce then sends you back to Build the Drop.

    5. 5

      Confirm the store is connected

Back in the dashboard, your WooCommerce store shows the 'Connected' badge. In wp-admin you can also see what was created: under WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API there is a key for Build the Drop, and under Webhooks there are two webhooks, 'Dropshipping order.created' and 'Dropshipping order.updated'. Don't delete them: they are what keeps your products and orders in sync, and removing them breaks the connection.

    6. 6

      Import your first product

Search for a product from AliExpress, review it and import it. It is created in WooCommerce already published, as a simple product or as a variable product with its variations, using your price rule for the price. Open it in WooCommerce to check the title, images, price and stock. Product categories are not set by Build the Drop, so assign them in WooCommerce if your store uses them.

    7. 7

      If the connection fails

If you cancelled the approval or took more than 15 minutes, just click 'Connect WooCommerce' again. If your plan already has a store connected (Free and Starter allow one store per space, Shopify or WooCommerce), disconnect it first or upgrade your plan: Pro allows up to 5 stores per space and Business is unlimited. If the connection still doesn't work, check that the site loads over HTTPS without certificate errors and that permalinks are not set to 'Plain'.

Which stores does Build the Drop support?
Build the Drop connects to Shopify and WooCommerce (WordPress). You need an active store on one of them to get started. On the Free and Starter plans you can connect one store at a time, either Shopify or WooCommerce; Pro and Business let you connect multiple stores. Other platforms like TikTok Shop, Amazon and Etsy are coming soon.
    Can I manage multiple stores?
Yes. Build the Drop uses the concept of 'Spaces', where each Space connects one store (Shopify or WooCommerce) with its AliExpress account, price rules, and settings. How many stores you can connect depends on your plan: one at a time on Free and Starter, several on Pro and Business.
Can I connect more than one store?
It depends on your plan. Free and Starter allow one connected store at a time — Shopify or WooCommerce, your choice. Pro and Business allow multiple stores. Each space is built around its own store and supplier connection, so spaces are the best way to organize several stores.
Is Build the Drop free to use with AliExpress?
Build the Drop offers a free plan that lets you import up to 50 products and manage basic AliExpress dropshipping. Paid plans unlock unlimited products, automated price rules and bulk order fulfillment.
How does Build the Drop compare to DSers or AutoDS for AliExpress?
Unlike DSers (AliExpress-only, limited pricing logic) or AutoDS (complex, expensive), Build the Drop focuses on clean UX, powerful formula-based pricing, and multi-supplier support — so you're not locked into AliExpress long-term.
