How Long Does AliExpress Shipping Take? 2026 Delivery Times
How long AliExpress orders take to arrive: delivery times by shipping method and region, local warehouses, and how to set customer expectations.
AliExpress shipping usually takes 7–15 days with Premium Shipping, 15–45 days with AliExpress Standard Shipping or Cainiao Super Economy, and 3–7 days when the product ships from a local warehouse in your country (Spain, Germany, France, the US, the UK and others). The method you choose also decides what you pay and how well the parcel is tracked. This guide compares each option and explains how to set realistic delivery expectations for your customers.
| Shipping method | Typical delivery | Cost to you | Tracking | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AliExpress Standard Shipping / Cainiao Super Economy | 15–45 days to most of Europe and the Americas | Free or near-free | Economy options often track only inside the destination country | Low-priced products where margin matters most |
| AliExpress Premium Shipping | 7–15 days to most of Europe and the US | Several dollars more per order | Full tracking from carrier pickup | High-ticket orders or customers who paid for express |
| Local warehouse (Spain, Germany, France, US, UK…) | 3–7 days within the same country | Product cost is usually a bit higher | Varies by listing | Gifts, seasonal items and anything where fast delivery sells |
Default shipping is AliExpress Standard or Cainiao
Most AliExpress products default to 'AliExpress Standard Shipping' or 'Cainiao Super Economy' — these are the slowest options (15–45 days to most of Europe and the Americas) but they keep your product cost low, which protects your margin. When you import a product to Build the Drop, the default shipping method on AliExpress is what the order will use unless you change it.
AliExpress Premium Shipping: faster, more expensive
Premium Shipping (also called 'AliExpress Premium' or 'DHL/FedEx/UPS' for higher value orders) typically delivers in 7–15 days to most of Europe and the US, with full tracking from the moment the carrier picks up the package. It costs more — usually several dollars per order — so it eats into your margin. Use it for high-ticket orders or when a customer has paid for express shipping.
ePacket is gone, long live Cainiao
ePacket used to be the default for AliExpress dropshippers targeting the US, EU, and UK. It has been replaced by 'Cainiao Super Economy' for untracked/limited-tracking shipments and 'AliExpress Standard Shipping' for tracked ones. Functionally they're the same: 15–30 day delivery, free or near-free, with end-to-end tracking. Most of what you've heard about 'ePacket shipping times' still applies to the new methods.
Local warehouses in the EU, US, and UK
Many AliExpress sellers now stock inventory in local warehouses (Spain, Germany, France, US, UK, etc.) and offer 3–7 day delivery to the same country. Build the Drop surfaces this as a separate shipping option in the product import flow — when a product is available from a local warehouse, you'll see the option to import it from there. The product cost is usually a bit higher but delivery times match Amazon Prime expectations.
Set customer expectations at checkout
Whichever shipping method you choose, set clear expectations on the product page and in the shipping policy: estimated delivery window, where it ships from, and what to do if the order is delayed. The number-one cause of 'where is my order' tickets in dropshipping is customers expecting Amazon-level delivery from a 25-day shipping method. Shopify's 'shipping times by region' feature lets you show different estimates for different countries — use it. On WooCommerce, add the estimate to each shipping method's title (WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping) so customers see it at checkout.
Tracking quality varies by carrier
Premium and Standard shipping give you end-to-end tracking from pickup to delivery. Cheaper economy options often only track within the destination country — the customer sees a 'shipped' status for two weeks and then it pops to 'delivered' without intermediate updates. This is normal for budget shipping, not a sign of a lost package. If a customer asks, check the AliExpress order detail (Build the Drop links to it) for the carrier's tracking page.
